- Scientific name: Anthracoceros albirostris
- 2 Subspecies : Anthracoceros albirostris albirostris, Anthracoceros albirostris convexus
- Range: From Himalayan foothills, eastward , covering most of mainland southeast asia, northward, covering part of Indonesia
- Age variation: Decreasing black(and hence increasing white) in tail with age
- Size: 55-60cm
- Diet: Mainly frugivorous, but insects and small vertebrates like fish. bats, and frogs are also eaten
- Sexual dimorphism: Not very strongly sexually dimorphic. Females slightly smaller than males.
